Kelly Osbourne at the Tribeca Film Festival

Working it?

Kelly Osbourne attends the premiere of "God Bless Ozzy Osbourne" during the 10th annual
Tribeca Film Festival New York City. Kelly Osbourne wear blazer by Vivienne Westwood blazer
and a Jean Paul Gaultier skirt.

We're not sure about this look. It seems a bit of a step backwards for her; like something we would have seen her wear circa 2008 or so, when she was working a slightly harder look which we assumed in retrospect (given her current ongoing level of polish) was simply a matter of her being young and not yet figuring out her personal style. Since then, she's re-cast herself as quite the little grande dame of fashion, having worked a series of polished public looks that secured her status as a Girl to Watch, as well as a gig on E!'s Fashion Police and as the spokesmodel for Madonna and Lourdes' Material Girl line.

In fact, this look puzzled us so much that we scoured the Material Girl line, assuming she was wearing some of the pieces for this look, as a way of branding symmetry: stand on the red carpet for the premiere of a movie about your dad while wearing pieces from the line of clothing you're paid to promote. A nice gig if you can get it. But it appears these pieces aren't from Madonna's line. We're not sure where they came from, but they do not appear to be fulfilling a contractual obligation.

Anyway, long story short: we're not crazy about the look here. Her hair and lipstick color look really harsh and amateurish; like something a 15-year-old would choose. As for the clothes, everything fits and (for the most part) flatters, but it all seems like a bit too much. We kindasorta like the jacket, but not paired with the mermaid skirt. Too much volume in both pieces. Also (and this is what made us think she was wearing Material Girl), that bustier looks a little, well, cheap.

We won't call this an IN or OUT. We have something better planned for that feature today and besides, the outfit is just unusual enough that we don't want to subject it to an I/O post and its dreary binaryness. No, we definitely give her credit for not wearing the required ruffle-y cocktail dress. We just don't think this particular look works all that well for her.
